The Awakening Angler YouTube Channel, and Limp Lizard BBQ have joined forces to form WalleyeFest, LLC, bringing the annual 1st weekend in May Walleye Derby back to Oneida Lake. WalleyeFest Derby is not just an event; it's a tradition reborn that brings together families, anglers, and the entire community to celebrate the arrival of spring in Central New York.

After the Lions Club hosted its final derby in 2022, WalleyeFest debuted in 2023 to revive and expand this cherished tradition. Now in its 46th year, this “opening weekend” derby has been a Oneida Lake staple since 1979!

The festivities kick off at 12:01 AM on Saturday, May 3rd, and the excitement continues non-stop for 36 hours, concluding on Sunday at 11:59 AM. The Derby Awards Ceremony for 2025 will take place May 4th from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM at Brewerton Speedway.

This event includes: 

1. Free Fish Fry

2. Live entertainment at the Sunday awards ceremony (starting at 11 AM)

3. A 2-day Walleye Tournament open to any skill level (youth, women's, and veterans divisions)

4. $20,000 in Cash & Prizes guaranteed for the main leader board.

5. 12 optional sub-division leaderboards each with their own payout in CASH & PRIZES making this the LARGEST Derby In NYS
